I finally emailed Ed and Irene a couple of weeks ago to ask about coming to serve at DVF in May and got this reply within an hour:
"Absolutely!!!! We would count it a privilege to have you! And your friends!!!!! Stay in touch and we will plan to see you early May!!!!
Blessings and Love,
Irene & Ed"
So I guess I'm really going!! To say I'm excited is an incredible understatement...I can't wait to be there! Two more weeks of classes, 2 days of final exams, a few days of unpacking dorm stuff and doing laundry, and then repacking bags to be gone for a month.
But for now, homework's a reality... Another 3 page "overnight write" about America's external empire in the 20th century. It really is actually interesting stuff, but I just keep thinking about the summer. I have to remind myself that all the reading and writing will be done soon and summer will be here. :)

Lots of black beans and rice! Yum!
Yep, that's certainly one thing I'm excited about!!
Next weekend, I will make some more! I wonder if black beans and salsa help you concentrate for studying for finals like blueberries do...
I'd go for the blueberries! Maybe in a pie.
mmmm, good idea! :)
Or you could make blueberry cobbler the easy way.
1 stick butter/margarine
1 c. milk
1 c. sugar
1 c. self-rising flour
2 cans of blueberry pie filling
Melt butter in 9X13 baking dish.
Combine milk, sugar & flour and pour into dish.
Pour pie filling on top and bake at about 350 for 30-40 minutes.
(Works with other pie fillings too...peach is my favorite.)
Of course, you probably don't have an oven in your dorm room...that could be a problem.
